It's a disgusting part of our culture that promotes the hunting of animals as a sport -- with stuffed animals as trophies … pictures of men, women, and children holding their bloody kill with a smile and look of superiority. Overpopulation is used as an excuse for the act in many cases. But hunters seem irritated when nature takes care of the problem.
In a an episode of a television program called "Strut & Rut" a 13 y/o looking kid is shooting squirrels with music and editing that aims to be a suspense or a rock music video I can't tell which. It's as if a torch has to be passed on. It's like a rite of passage. Fathers take their sons into the woods and encourage them to kill a defenseless animal to what… become a man? I know a person who told a story about a person who took their family deer hunting. As the story goes, the young daughter was heartbroken as she watched an abandoned young fawn in a ravine mourn it's just murdered mother. The mother of this daughter said, "I hope this doesn't discourage her from hunting". What kind of fucking maternal numbness is that? I guess animal abuse does dehumanize you. Is this some kind of lifestyle choice or what?
